💭 Quick Thoughts

Need some sort of method to review notes and ideas from this week - urgent. Task - ‘who’s visiting’ only available pre-harvest.

What happens when nectar is full? Just harvesting honey? Buy glass bottles, lol?

Tomorrow (23rd November) I’ll focus primarily on Godot build + the landing page alterations suggested by Rhys.

Orders idea is good, now let’s see how we can turn it into a puzzle game…

Notes from 23/11 - I’m not going to bother creating a new page because yesterday I didn’t write too much down. I’ve gotten in touch with Sean to get some additional feedback from the current Star-Sailors web build. So just need to pass along a link. The text/“background” pages in Bumble need an overhaul. They look bad. I’m going to see what inspiration I can get through copilot, at least an initial improvement so I can do manual testing a bit more easily, and then I’ll go to Dribbble…

There’s a few tileset/tilemap tutorials I’m going to work my way through in Godot, for when I finally get onto creating my own maps.

Longer term plan (as discussed briefly in Proposals 151125) is that Bumble and the Godot build will probably be two separate projects (Godot will likely lead towards a more exploratory behaviour/narrative, Bumble will be a garden-facing game like PvZ Zen Garden.). Still worth trying to finish the current Godot build because 1) I may decide to do Bumble entirely within Godot later, and 2) because it gives me a good foundation for setting up the terrain and landscape for the bigger game.

Outside of that, I’ve got some physics papers to work through today…

I need to start creating characters and building an audience. No idea what I’ll call the game yet. Suppliers, purchasers? Who are they?

Specific programming tasks:

  1. Harvesting in Godot
  2. Nectar development in RN - honey refinerieis/automations :P

Also, need to think about desktop performance. How much of this can be a desktop product in Godot?

Thoughts from Rhys on Product Hunt 1st Launch Prep: Pre launch checklist is good, we need to write out the top most 3 interesting features about the app, determine where the value offer is - (learning about space, contributing to citizen science, and 1 more..) It needs to be short, almost blunt and to the point, no jargon. Landing page feedback ; The badge/annoucement at the very top should be more prominent, perhaps a more eye catching colour light a pale yellow so it stands out from the rest of your componentry. Your start now buttons also need to be more prominent aswell, mobile is good as well as desktop you just need to spice up the hero section, perhaps add a subtle background design, could be dots, a grid, a semi transparent background image , really subtle though, almost hard to see.

When structuring a hero section you want your content to be laid out in a way that eyes will follow the outer edges of where content ends, for example, I’ll send an image to trace what you have, and then I’ll send another one with lines on how your content should be shaped to guide eyes to the start button. Your almost perfect, your top badge is just a little to wide.

This is what the shape is

It should be closer to
